Pierre Frey is a traditional French fabric, interior furnishing house, producing exquisitely designed upholstery and curtain fabrics as well as luxury wallpapers.
La Maison Pierre Frey hosts four equally prestigious designer fabric brands Braquenié, Fadini Borghi, Le Manach and Boussac in addition to those produced under the strict aesthetic and quality principles by Pierre Frey.
Braquenié (est. 1824), synonymous for its printed cottons, silks and hand-woven rugs, has a rich aesthetic style in which the opulence and splendour of France’s Second Empire go hand-in-hand with the undulations, Japonism and organic curves of Art Nouveau, followed by the geometrical influence of the decorative arts.
Fadini-Borghi (est. 1947) epitomises the tradition of luxurious internal aesthetics unique to Italy that introduced silk weaving to Europe around the 13th century. Fadini-Borghi interprets and integrates modern resonances with classical perspectives that result in refined and sophisticated fabrics from the plain silks to the spectacular brocatelles and jacquards.
Le Manach (est. 1829) represents the quintessence of French style, a subtle mix of French tradition and exoticism. Le Manach is inspired by the crafts and traditions of silk weaving of the Far East and Central Asia, the printed cottons of the 18th century, as well as the exuberance of the Art Deco period and uniqueness of ethnic motifs.
Boussac (est. 1934) approaches interior decoration through the themes of innovation and keeping up with the times. Geometric motifs interact with materials in bright, colorful contemporary harmonies to produce resolutely contemporary landscapes. Marcel Boussac, the brand’s founder, was a visionary and unconditional supporter of Christian Dior when he launched his own Fashion House. Naturally, The Grand Couturier Christian Dior chose a Boussac print entitled toile bergère to decorate the walls of his Colifichets boutique on avenue Montaigne in Paris.
Pierre Frey fabrics and wallpapers, while rich in traditions and expertise are modern in their approach and outlook producing luxury wallpapers and designer fabrics for exceptional interiors. The fabric house has an expansive archive of French designs dating back centuries which allows them to create striking designer fabrics and unusual wallpapers, with contemporary aesthetic.
