NOBILIS
NOBILIS in Latin means ‘distinguished’ or “in good taste”. In 1928, Adolphe Halard, founder of the company, opened a boutique under this name at 29 rue Bonaparte in Paris, between the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Fine Arts School, Ecole des Beaux Arts. By surrounding himself with renowned painters such as Suzanna Fontan, he began designing collections of wallpapers and fabrics which express the emotion of contemporary artists: the Nobilis spirit was born. NOBILIS quickly became internationally known for the quality and upscale finish of its products and services.
In addition to its original role as a designer of fabric, trimmings, and wallpaper, NOBILIS also develops collections of rugs, sofas, furniture, and decoration accessories.
