LE MANACH

The Maison Le Manach was founded in 1829 with archives celebrating almost two centuries of textile creation. Le Manach is one of the last French Maisons that can reproduce thanks to its know-how silks and velvets on blackstrap looms. Its heritage in its archives generates an inexhaustible source of inspiration: from classicism to a very contemporary decoration, this Maison is always looking forward.

The first prints date back to 1894, when Démonté and Poirier, former owners of this fine factory, decided to diversify their offer. Using the traditional technique of block printing, they revived textiles drawn from the family heritage or gleaned from their travels. New prints are constantly being designed, always with a concern for quality and beauty. Today these fabrics are screen-printed by hand and come in a range of very different styles suited to both classic and contemporary interiors.

Amongst the exceptionally varied and exquisite fabrics, Concini is an unsurpassed silk fabrics that showcases the unique know-how of craftsmen and the richesness of the fabrics bestowed by Le Manach House. Inspired from its original 17th century archive, Concini is an emblematic drawing taken from the heritage collection of Le Manach. A true aesthete, Pierre Frey reproduces the same ancestral gesture, selects the best experts to revive an edition of this exceptional warp print, reproducing its subtle patterns and colours to the “blurred” effect that is so characteristic.

In 2006, Le Manach was one of the first French companies to receive the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant”, a State honour in recognition of its preserving hand-crafted and industrial know-how.

Le Manach over the centuries has furnished historical monuments all around the world, for instance, the green damask in the Eugénie Empress music saloon in the Compiègne castle, the dark blue ground with gold and silver weaving lampas in the King of Rome’s boudoir, the brocatelle in the King’s bedroom in Vaux le Vicomte.

Now thanks to the uniqueness of the Toiles and Nacrés de Tours concept, limitless possibilities are offered to clients. Those exceptional fabrics can be customized and bespoke woven for your particular choices with a large range of colours, variety of designs and thanks to the suppleness of weaving that would accentuate your personal and unique aesthetic signature.
